Note: Salt is salt, no matter what name it has and where it comes from. That is why it remains important that you adhere to the maximum recommended amount of 6 grams when consumed, so that salt remains healthy for your body. The Heart Foundation advises adults to eat a maximum of 6 grams of salt per day. This does NOT apply to babies and children. It is less for children. The kidneys of babies and young children cannot handle much salt yet. Therefore, do not add salt to your baby or child's food.
